Shiphrah Centre recently hosted a heartwarming visit from Britam Insurance staff, marking a powerful moment of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community outreach in Kenya. The visit brought encouragement, celebration, and practical support to the children, leaving behind smiles and renewed hope.

The highlight of the day was an inspirational talk by Uncle Vic, a member of the Britam team, who shared his life story with the children. Coming from a humble and challenging background, he encouraged the children to work hard and remain focused on their dreams. He explained that he knew very well that without hard work, he would never amount to anything in life.
Through determination and persistence, his efforts earned him a place at university—proof that circumstances do not define one’s future. His message resonated deeply with the children: never look down on yourself, regardless of where you come from.
Games, Dance, and Meaningful Connections
Beyond the motivational session, the Britam Insurance team spent quality time with the children, engaging in games, dancing, and shared laughter. These moments of interaction created a warm and lively environment, strengthening bonds and reminding the children that they are seen, valued, and loved.

To crown the visit, the Britam Insurance staff donated essential foodstuffs, clothes, and toiletries to support the daily needs of the children at Shiphrah Centre. The team shared that they meet every three months and intentionally select a needy children’s home to celebrate Christmas with through giving and fellowship.
Why Shiphrah Centre Was Chosen
In their search for a children’s home to visit this year, a recommendation from someone associated with AFC Leopards led the team to Shiphrah Centre. After learning about the centre, the Britam team settled on it and were grateful for the opportunity to be part of the children’s lives during the festive season.
