Today, Shiphrah Centre was filled with warmth and celebration as we welcomed the compassionate team from Nairobi Water – Uthiru. As their chosen children’s home of the year, our Centre became the place where their Christmas spirit shone brightest.

From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere was filled with joy, encouragement, and genuine care that uplifted both children and staff.
Guided by Davie: A Kind and Graceful MC
The programme was beautifully steered by Davie, a dedicated staff member from Nairobi Water who served as the MC of the day. His calm, engaging presence brought structure and warmth to the event, keeping everyone connected and attentive.

Martha’s Testimony: Faith Through Every Season
Before the day’s speeches began, Martha shared the inspiring journey of how Shiphrah Centre was founded. She spoke openly about the challenges faced, the sacrifices made, and the miracles that have carried this mission to where it is today.
Her testimony moved many to tears and reminded everyone that Shiphrah is not just a home—it is a calling built on faith, resilience, and compassion.
Ev. David Gakio: From Street Kid to Nairobi Water Staff
The highlight of the day came when Evangelist David Gakio, a member of the Nairobi Water Uthiru team, took the stage and shared his powerful life story.
He narrated how he lost both of his parents at a young age and was left alone, forced to survive on the streets. His early life was filled with hardship and uncertainty. But through the grace of God, doors began to open. Step by step, he was guided, supported, and eventually given an opportunity that changed his life forever—employment at Nairobi Water.

Today, he stands not only as a staff member but as a living testimony of hope and transformation.
His message to the children was simple yet profound:
“Don’t let your tap run dry.”
A reminder to stay connected to God, to keep one’s hope alive, and to never give up—no matter how tough life gets.
His story touched hearts and left a lasting impression on everyone present.

A Gesture of Love: Gifts That Made the Day Special
The Nairobi Water Uthiru team came bearing generous gifts including:
- Foodstuffs
- Toiletries
- Snacks
- Goodies and treats
- Various essential items
These gifts brought excitement and joy to the children, making the day feel truly festive and full of love.

A Beautiful Ending
The visit concluded with laughter, warm conversations, and a renewed sense of hope. It was a beautiful reminder that Christmas is about giving—not just things, but love, time, and encouragement.
From all of us at Shiphrah Centre, thank you to the Nairobi Water Uthiru team for choosing us, for sharing your stories, and for reminding our children that they are valued, seen, and deeply loved.
Your kindness has made this Christmas brighter. 🎄❤️
