Sharon Waithera was found in a weak and frail condition, her body and eyes appearing pale from prolonged hunger. She was a destitute child, in urgent need of shelter, care, and protection.
Her body showed signs of severe neglect—wasted, undergrowing, and with wrinkled skin that reflected malnutrition and poor living conditions. Sharon’s life was hanging in the balance until members of the public from Bahati Village, Karamba, Mbeere intervened and rescued her from the brink of death due to hunger.
Her parents, overwhelmed by poverty and unable to provide even the basics, had no means of support. With compassion, the rescuers ensured Sharon was referred and later brought to Shiphrah Centre, where she finally found food, safety, and the protection she so desperately needed.
