Deborah Njeri

Deborah Njeri’s early childhood was marked by abandonment and neglect. She was found in a very poor state of health, her appearance showing clear signs of sickness and lack of proper care. Vulnerable and in desperate need of protection, shelter, and medical attention, her case immediately drew concern.

She was first referred to Eagles Nursing Home, where she could receive urgent medical care. At the same time, the matter was reported to the Kikuyu area Chief, who became involved in ensuring her safety. Alongside two other children—Samwel Baraka and Keziah Nduta—Deborah’s case highlighted the seriousness of children being left abandoned and unprotected.

Eventually, Deborah was placed under the care of Shiphrah Centre, where she was assured not only of continued medical support but also of shelter, protection, and nurturing. In this safe environment, she began her journey toward recovery, regaining both health and hope.

Today, Deborah’s story reflects the power of intervention and compassion. Though abandoned and in poor health, she now has a place where she is valued, protected, and given the chance to grow into her full potential.
