Samwel Ndung’u, a sibling to Francis Kiarie, also came from a poor family in Nakuru. Just like his brother, he suffered from the effects of poverty, lack of shelter, and inadequate care and protection.
When he was received at Shiphrah Centre, Samwel appeared weak though of average appearance. He did not show signs of severe illness but, for his safety, he was taken for a medical check-up to monitor his condition.
The family’s poor background and insufficient accommodation left the children vulnerable and in need of urgent support. With no other way forward, the parents sought help through a friend who directed them to Shiphrah Centre, where Samwel, together with Francis, finally found food, shelter, and the care they needed to begin a new chapter of stability.
