Jane Wambui Mwalale

Jane Wambui Mwalale’s life was shaken by the loss of her mother, leaving her and her siblings orphaned at a tender age. The grief and sudden absence of parental care left Jane visibly stressed and vulnerable, struggling to cope with the weight of loss no child should have to bear.

Alongside her siblings—Benjamine Musyoki, Victor Kimani, and Grace Njeri—Jane was identified by the Chief of Kamuongo Sub-location, Kyuso, who recognized the urgent need for intervention. The children were referred for rescue and care so they could receive the protection and support their late mother could no longer provide.

At Shiphrah Centre, Jane found a place of comfort and healing. She was welcomed into a safe environment where her emotional needs, nutrition, and education could be addressed. Surrounded by her siblings and caregivers, she began to recover from the trauma of loss and slowly rediscovered stability.

Today, Jane’s story is one of healing and resilience. Though deeply affected by the loss of her mother, she now has a supportive community around her and the chance to rebuild her life with hope and dignity.
