Esther Nafuna, the younger sibling to Diana Heshimwe, also arrived at Shiphrah Centre in a fragile condition. Like her sister, Esther was in dire need of medical care, support, and protection.
She bore the painful marks of malnutrition—brown hair, cracked skin, and visible weakness. With their father in hospital and their mother mentally handicapped, Esther and her sister had no caregiver to meet their most basic needs.
Their plight was reported to the Chief of Iria-ini North Location, Othaya, who intervened to ensure the children were not left to suffer alone. At Shiphrah Centre, Esther finally found safety, nourishment, and the assurance of care she desperately needed to begin her recovery.
