At first glance, Alpha Mwangi appeared to be fine—but a closer look revealed the hardship he carried. His body was worn out from lack of a balanced diet, and he was in urgent need of medical care and proper nutrition.
Alpha came from a background of extreme poverty, where even the most basic needs could not be met. His family had no stable home, and the insecurity of moving from place to place left him vulnerable, hungry, and without protection.
With no other option, a search for help led Alpha to Shiphrah Centre, where he could finally find stability. At the Centre, he was given medical treatment, nutritious meals, and a safe place to live—the essentials he had been denied for so long.
Today, Alpha’s story reflects the harsh reality of poverty, but also the hope that comes when intervention arrives in time. From a child without a home or proper meals, he is now on a path toward health, safety, and a brighter future at Shiphrah Centre.
