Mary Wanjiku

Mary Wanjiku was brought to Shiphrah Centre together with her sibling, Moses Kibaki, after their case was referred by Riruta Police Station. Both children were in need of care, shelter, and protection.

When she arrived, Mary showed signs of hardship she was slow in growth and had a pale skin tone, clear evidence of neglect and poor nutrition. Yet, despite these challenges, she demonstrated remarkable resilience and strength.

Unlike many children in similar situations, Mary was able to communicate well, expressing herself with clarity and confidence. She quickly adapted to her new environment at the Centre and showed a positive spirit that set her apart. Whatever task was assigned to her, Mary carried it out with determination and capability, proving her strong will and inner courage.

At Shiphrah Centre, Mary was given the proper nutrition, medical attention, and emotional support she needed. Surrounded by a caring community, she began to thrive, showing that with the right environment, children can overcome even the hardest beginnings.

Today, Mary’s story is one of quiet strength. Though she arrived fragile and neglected, her confidence and ability have continued to shine through, making her a living example of hope and resilience.
