Lee Wambugu

Lee Wambugu’s life began with unimaginable challenges. He was a child in dire need of medical care, shelter, and protection. When he was found, his condition was extremely fragile he was disabled, confined to a wheelchair, and suffering from chronic pneumonia.

At the hospital, Lee’s state was so severe that he was placed in a secluded room. He had only one ear, and when attempts were made to feed him, the food would come out of his mouth, showing the seriousness of his condition. His mother, who was mentally handicapped, could not provide the care he required.

It was in this desperate situation that Martha, the founder of Shiphrah Centre, stepped in. Seeing his suffering, she offered to assist with Lee’s medical care and committed to providing him with a safe and nurturing home at the Centre.

The case was further confirmed and supported by the Educational Assessment and Rescue Services in Dagoretti, ensuring that Lee would receive both the medical attention and long-term care he needed.

At Shiphrah Centre, Lee was surrounded by compassion and specialized care. Though his health was fragile, he finally had access to proper treatment, a safe place to live, and people dedicated to ensuring his comfort and dignity.

Lee’s story is one of courage in the face of suffering. Despite his disabilities and critical health challenges, the intervention of Shiphrah Centre gave him a chance to be loved, cared for, and valued. His life stands as a powerful reminder that every child, no matter how vulnerable, deserves protection and dignity.
